This evening I was browsing some images of Mars on the JPL website.
The image I am about to show you is one returned by the Spirit rover. There is no date one the image, but that’s not as important as what the image shows. Now, I know some people may think this looks like a rock… but to me, that is just impossible. You will understand when you see the image.
OK, enough babbling! I’m sure you are desperate to see what I’m going on about, so here is the original image (available to download from the JPL website right now.)
From the Spirit rover – Rear Hazcam:
As you can see, it’s rather dark! No problem, I fired up PhotoShop, turned up the exposure and this is what was revealed!
I don’t think I need to point out what I’m fussing about, but just in case anyone is not sure, it’s the strange building in the middle-top.
What do you think it is? Could it really be a building on Mars? Perhaps it’s the delivery package from which the rover deployed?
Oddly, there also appears to be something in the sky, a peculiar row of dots on the horizon and a, dare I say, UFO? – on the right near the other structure.
Download the images, have a play and see what you can make of it.
- ink to original image – it’s rear hazcam(sol 2154)
